New shops and experiences at Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District
Hot on the heels of the announcement for plans to reimagine the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland — and just in time for the holidays — comes news of several new shops and experiences at the resort’s shopping and dining area.
“There are always exciting things to do, see, shop, taste, and explore in Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort,” writes Disneyland Public Relations Manager Valerie Lee in the Disney Parks Blog. “This month, we have innovative new shops and a fun photo opp to check out and experience.”
Pelé Soccer
Soccer fans won’t want to miss a chance to shop at the new store named after legendary Brazilian soccer superstar Pelé. The specialty shop, which opened on Dec. 15, 2021, carries soccer gear from renowned global sports brands, official club and national team jerseys from around the world, plus sports apparel, cleats, soccer balls, and more for the whole family. Jerseys can also be customized with a name and number, which makes the perfect gift for players and fans on your holiday list.
Post 21
Post 21 is a new kiosk on the east end of the district from a Los Angeles-based mother-daughter team who curated a collection of unique merchandise from Black-owned businesses, including Black Santa wrapping paper and mugs, home décor, children’s items, and graphic tees.
Lovepop
Opening soon in Downtown Disney, Lovepop will feature more than 400 designs, including 3-D pop-up cards, stationery, and gifts that combine unique laser cut technology with the ancient art form of kirigami, a variation of origami that intricately cuts paper rather than folding.
Boba Fett’s Throne
For a limited time, a replica of the throne featured in the all-new Disney+ original series “The Book of Boba Fett” has been placed outside the Star Wars Trading Post entrance. The unique photo opp allows guests to recreate their own Star Wars-worthy adventure just like legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and mercenary Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) in the new show, launching exclusively on Disney+ Dec. 29, 2021.
