Nikki is coming to Halloween Horror Nights

Universal confirmed the appearance in a press release following the panel, saying guests whose “only wish is to meet Nikki” may find themselves face-to-face with the character on the darkened streets of Universal Studios Hollywood.

Notably, Halloween Horror Nights describes Nikki as “the latest victim of the One Wish Willow’s terrifying curse.”

That wording establishes how Universal is approaching a potentially complicated horror character. Some fans expressed concern following the announcement because Nikki’s obsessive behavior in the movie is not something she chooses. Bear uses the supernatural One Wish Willow to force Nikki to love him, taking away her autonomy and setting the movie’s increasingly horrific events in motion.

By explicitly calling Nikki a victim, Halloween Horror Nights appears to acknowledge that distinction as the character makes the jump from the screen to the event.

Universal has not detailed exactly how guests will encounter Nikki beyond saying she will appear on the streets of Universal Studios Hollywood.

Written and directed by Curry Barker and released by Focus Features, “Obsession” has become a remarkable box office success. The movie was made for approximately $750,000 and has grossed more than $458 million worldwide.

The horror movie follows Bear, whose wish for his co-worker Nikki to love him turns into something terrifying when the One Wish Willow grants exactly what he asked for.

Nikki’s terrifying story continues beyond the screen and onto the streets of Universal Studios Hollywood.
