Paranormal Inc. unleashes unimaginable horror upon SCarowinds

by Susan and Simon Veness

SCarowinds, the Halloween event at Carowinds amusement park, brings 300 monsters, seven scare zones, four shows, and five mazes to the Charlotte, N.C. park, including the new terrors of the maze, Paranormal Inc.

SCarowinds runs on 19 select nights from September 16-October 30, 2022, and this year visitors can make their way through the haunted maze of Hayden Hill Sanitarium, the macabre setting from the fictional Paranormal Inc. television show, where patients have endured unspeakable torture at the hands of the hospital’s doctors. Now, the staff – and the demonic spirits of their victims — prowl the halls looking for new victims.

Returning mazes are Depths of Darkness, Silver Scream Studios, SlaughterHouse, and ToothFairy.

New scare zones add to the frights, including The Harlequin Club’s twisted traveling troupe of circus workers and sideshow acts, and Tricksters, a street where a knock on the door while trick-or-treating never results in something sweet.

Past year’s scare zones Blood Yard, GraveWalkers, Outlaw’s Revenge, Ripper Alley, and The Hollow will also challenge intruders to find a way out, unscathed.

Three new shows will be part of 2022’s event with Heads Will Roll, The Lost Souls, and The Mane Stage. Bagpipe and Drum Show will return this year, too.

Those who survive the event will find SCarowinds-themed merchandise at the Evil Emporium. Specialty foods and adult beverages, plus photo ops, will also be on offer.

Get priority access to all of the mazes and unlimited boarding on all Fast Lane attractions with the purchase of Fast Lane and Fright Lane, starting at $89 (price varies by night). Park admission is required but not included.
