Silvergate Media, which co-owns and manages the licensing for the animated “Peter Rabbit” TV series in the UK, has announced that the show will expand into new live events and attractions after the success of their programming.
The first new addition is the “Peter Rabbit Adventure” experience, which opened this past July in Flamingo Land, the biggest family attraction in the North East of the country, and attracts 1.6 million visitors annually.
The attraction brings the show’s themes to life, as guests are immersed in the world of Peter Rabbit. Visitors can explore Jeremy Fisher’s musical pond, try their luck on Benjamin Bunny’s Treetop Trail, and flex their creative skills with an art masterclass on Pig Robinson’s Farm.
Silvergate Media will also expand the “Peter Rabbit” universe at Willows Activity Farm. The previous attraction to the property, “Peter Rabbit Adventure Playground,” opened in April 2016, and brings about 500,000 annual visits. The new Peter Rabbit attraction coming to the farm is set to open in Spring 2018.
“Given ‘Peter Rabbit’s’ inextricable link to the British countryside and focus on outdoor adventures, attraction such as the ones now open at Flamingo Land and Willows Activity Farm, provide the perfect opportunity for young fans and their families to engage with the beloved brand beyond the small screen,” said Lisa Macdonald, Vice President of Consumer Products and TV Sales EMEA at Silvergate Media.
A new range of plush toys themed to “Peter Rabbit” is also in the works, which is set to hit retail stores in Spring 2018.
“Our plan is to continue cherishing the brand’s heritage while offering fresh and relevant experiences, attractions and products that will enable us to attract newer audiences and younger parents. With a host of exciting partnerships in the pipeline, we’re confident that ‘Peter Rabbit’ and friends will be delighting friends for many more years to come,” said Macdonald.
