PHOTOS: First look at Disney Wonder’s New Orleans-themed enhancements

This week, the Disney Wonder will set sail with a collection of brand-new enhancements inspired by the beauty of New Orleans.

The highlight of these new additions is the French Quarter Lounge, where the world of Princess Tiana comes to life in new ways, bringing guests deeper into the heart of New Orleans.

Inspired by Disney’s “The Princess and the Frog,” this lounge complements Tiana’s Place Restaurant, which is just steps away on the ship. Each night at the French Quarter Lounge, guests can enjoy live music on the gazebo stage, a New Orleans-themed specialty drink, and dance the night away.

The lounge is inspired by outdoor spaces in New Orleans, and features decorative details like a storefront window and a wrought-iron balcony above it. Even the hats on display are inspired by hats worn by the characers in “The Princess and the Frog.”

Other details inside the lounge include a full-sized streetcar on the St. Charles line – the same trolley that Tiana rides in the film.

The bar features wrought-iron elements and shutters, and offers specialty cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages and coffees – as well as elements inspired by Dr. Facilier. A mural on the wall features the Shadow Man’s shadow, and his business card from the film. A door in the lounge is based on the entrance to Dr. Facilier’s shop, with signage and three flickering “candles” above it.

The fun keeps going in the lounge with New Orleans-themed activities, trivia, character meet-and-greets and music that brings the bayou spirit to life.

Elsewhere on the Disney Wonder, guests can find their new spot in Cove Café, a redesigned coffee shop for world travelers filled with warm and trendy décor. Here, guests can sip on coffee or tea throughout the day, and enjoy wine or a cocktail and light eats at night. Nearby, the Signals Bar has also received an update with a similar new look.

Vibe, the club onboard the ship for teens ages 14-17, has been transformed into a contemporary hangout complete with an open and bright redesign. A new coffee bar and updated virtual reality technology have been added to the list of activities for teens.
