Today, Oct. 11, Disney Parks around the world have invited guests to take part in a special Disneybound event in honor of International Day of the Girl, as declared by the United Nations.
Guests were encouraged to celebrate their favorite Disney heroines in Disneybound style on this special day. Disneybounding is the use of applying specific color blocking, patterns, accessories and more to create a look inspired by a Disney character.
Check out some of our favorite Disneybounds and other photos from today’s event:
Even our own Banks Lee took his daughter to participate at Walt Disney World today! Spencer showed off her Princess side with a look inspired by Ariel.
From Oct. 10 – Nov. 20, for every ‘like’ or share of a public photo or video with #DreamBigPrincess on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, Disney Worldwide Services will donate $1 to GirlUp, the United Nations Foundation’s program that supports girls’ leadership and empowerment, up to a maximum donation of $1 million.
Disney has also recently launched a new global video series that will offer the next generation advice and inspiration on how to succeed. Filmed and produced by young women from Girl Up, the new series shares the stories of 20 women across all ranges of industry. You can learn more about the series here.
