PHOTOS/VIDEOS: First look inside Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance ride
What could be called the most anticipated Disney attraction to date, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, opens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Dec. 5. Disney has released new photos from inside the attraction, offering fans a first look.

As you can expect, spoilers for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, including queue, preshow, and the ride itself, are ahead! Consider yourself warned and may the Force be with you…

Upon entering the queue, guests will see Poe Dameron’s X-wing starfighter, Black One. Poe will be your escort off Batuu as you attempt to meet up with General Leia Organa, though your plan won’t go… as planned.

As you travel through the queue for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, you’ll enter a series of caves that have been repurposed as a secret Resistance encampment. Flight suits and other galactic military equipment will be on display inside.

Once inside a makeshift briefing room, BB-8 will greet you and Rey will inform you of your mission via holo-transmission.

Once you receive your mission, you will board an Intersystem Transport Ship (I-TS), and receive additional instruction from Lieutenant Bek, a Mon Calamari communications officer for the Resistance. You can take a look at him in the photo below:

Unfortunately for you, your I-TS gets caught in a First Order Star Destroyer’s tractor beam, leading to your capture by Kylo Ren’s troops. First Order troops and Stormtroopers can be seen patrolling the ship’s hangar bay.

Fifty Stormtroopers will be standing at attention as you file into the hangar bay.. so be sure to stay on your guard.

Prisoners will then be loaded into First Order Fleet Transports, piloted by R5-series astromech droids and programmed with ship schematics and security access codes. You’ll have to dodge turbolaser cannons and weave through the ship as you make your escape.

But keep a weather eye, as you might find yourselves in the crosshairs of a Stormtrooper’s F-11D blaster.

You’ll even race past massive AT-AT walkers!

Though you won’t make your escape before coming face-to-face with the Supreme Leader himself, Kylo Ren – and he is determined to keep you onboard.

Guests will make their swift return to Batuu using First Order Short-Range Evacuation Vehicles – or more simply, escape pods. Better hold on tight, this could be a bumpy landing!
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opens on Dec. 5 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Jan. 17, 2020 at Disneyland park. Check out our videos of the entire ride experience below:
