Pocahontas ‘Colors of the Wind’ Light Show Debuts At Epcot

It seems that the light shows on Spaceship Earth will continue to receive limited-time offerings for each festival. Now, for the 2022 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, Spaceship Earth has gotten a Pocahontas themed light show. This show, which uses the fan-favorite new ensemble of lights that were added to Spaceship Earth in 2021, showcases wind, blowing leaves and vibrant colors.

It is expected that this limited-time light show will be around for the entirety of the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. Thus far, each festival at Epcot has received a limited-time show that fits the theme of the current festival. The last limited-time offering, during the Epcot International Festival of the Arts, featured The Muppets and “Rainbow Connection.”

Now, we get to witness color and nature combine with “The Colors of the Wind” from the 1995 Disney “Pocahontas” film. Whereas the previous offering had a signature moment with the rainbow coming over Spaceship Earth; this iteration focuses more on the serenity of the music and colorful shapes.

These light shows on Spaceship Earth start shortly after sunset and usually continue until a little after park closing. Currently, this show and the 50th anniversary Beacon of Magic show are happening at Epcot. The Spaceship Earth light shows are shorter in length, usually averaging right under five minutes. And, they play throughout the night, with a show happening about once every ten-to-fifteen minutes.
