Housed in the former ESPN Zone building in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort, this immersive, family-friendly experience features a series of Mickey and Minnie-themed galleries made especially for capturing eye-catching pictures.

Guests who purchase tickets to Pop-Up Disney will have the opportunity to lounge on a giant Minnie bow couch, helm the wheel of “Steamboat Willie”, dance in a mirrored hallway topped with Mickey ear hats, “float” inside a Mickey balloon and more. Each themed gallery brings vivid surprises, with elaborate lighting effects and toe-tapping hits from Mickey’s past and present to add to the fun.

The Pop-Up Disney experience takes about an hour and a half from start to finish, but guests can spend as much time in each room as they wish. Entrances are timed and limited to small groups to give guests uncrowded access to the galleries.

Though no Disney Photopass photographers are available inside, cast members are stationed throughout the exhibit to answer questions and help guests get the perfect shot with their own phones or cameras.

The event culminates with a visit to the gift shop, of course, which features a curated selection of Mickey and Minnie-themed merchandise that can be found throughout the parks, as well as Pop-Up Disney swag exclusive to the store, such as hats, tumblers, drawstring backpacks, t-shirts, and spirit jerseys.

New Mickey art by Jerrod Maruyama – known for designing Disney’s Kingdom of Cute products – will be available for purchase in the form of prints, mugs, magnets, and phone cases. Pop-Up Disney ticket holders will also be able to buy event-themed sweet treats at Marceline’s Confectionary.

The Pop-Up Disney retail store is open daily from 10 a.m. – 11 p.m., and guests can visit the shop without purchasing an event ticket. Validation from the store provides 3 hours of complimentary Downtown Disney parking.

Those who can’t make it to the exhibit can still share a bit of the fun by downloading the official Pop-Up Disney! A Mickey Celebration playlist on Apple Music. The tracks hop back and forth through Mickey’s history with selections that will be familiar to every generation.

Pop-Up Disney is open every day from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Reservations must be booked in advance online and are not included with theme park admission.
