Real-life Mario Kart race coming to Florida in 2019
Have you ever played Mario Kart and wished it could really be you behind the wheel collecting stars? You’ll have your chance when this go-karting event with a twist comes to Florida in 2019.
Mushroom Rally is a unique go-kart race that combines your favorite Nintendo characters and your IRL friends for a driving experience that feels straight out of a video game.
On June 1-2 and 8-9, 2019, this event will make its way to Miami, Fla., encouraging participants to show their stuff on the track.
Racers can choose a provided costume and dress up as their favorite Nintendo character while they drive around a themed, custom-made track for the chance to win prizes.
While there is no age requirement to race, there is a height requirement to get behind the wheel.
The junior minimum height requirement to race is 4 feet tall, and the adult minimum height requirement is 4’8. The maximum weight for racers in adult karts is around 300 pounds, with the maximum height being close to 6’7.
Tickets for this Mario Kart-inspired race are $55 and extremely limited. At the time of writing, only tickets for the Miami race on Sunday, June 9 remain. The location for the race is currently a secret, which should be revealed as the event date approaches.
One winner from each of the 16 Mushroom Rally race cities will be flown out to Las Vegas for the event finale – and a chance to battle it out for the grand prize!

This idea comes from Tokyo where you can do this on city streets
Umm.. will there be items too? Like, will racers be throwing shells at each other?
