Hersheypark, the 121-acre amusement park in Hershey, Pa., has announced plans for an all-new interactive dark ride, Reese’s Cupfusion.
Reese’s Cupfusion will combine peanut butter and chocolate with a dark ride experience and multi-level game player technology This new attraction will be located in Founder’s Way and is set to open in the summer of 2019.
“We are thrilled to announce the one-of-a-kind gaming attraction that is Reese’s Cupfusion,” said Kevin Stumpf, vice president of sports & attractions at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts. “We pride ourselves on creating unique and memorable family experiences that can only be enjoyed at Hersheypark and this new attraction will do just that.”
Reese’s Cupfusion will engage riders’ sight, smell, touch, and sound during the course of the ride, with the love for Reese’s at the center of the experience. On the ride, guests will become Reese’s Agent Trainees at Reese’s Central, a futuristic factor that runs on Reese’s Spirit. At the heart of Reese’s Central is the Crystal Cup, which collects the love of chocolate and peanut butter to create the Cupfusion energy that powers the factory.
As a Reese’s Agent Trainee, it’s the job of the guests to protect the Crystal Cup and make sure that the factory keeps running, under the guidance of Commander Cup, a new character that will be introduced in 2019.
Other new characters like Mint the Merciless and The League of Misfit Candy will be around the corner, ready to steal the Crystal Cup for their own evil purposes. Guests will be able to unlock additional features of the ride and try to beat their score to become a Reese’s Legend in the Hall of Fame.
The ride is manufactured by Sally Corporation, and is family-friendly with a height requirement of a Kisses category (36 inches) and up. Kisses and Reese’s height categories must be accompanied by a supervising companion in order to ride.
