Reindeer Road, the world’s largest drive-through animated light show, will open on Nov. 17, with millions of colorful LED lights and state-of-the-art displays.
World of Illumination’s wintery drive-through attraction, Reindeer Road, takes visitors on an adventure through “environments” themed as mountainous terrain, chilly ice caves, and magnificent forests as they make their way toward the mystical North Pole.
Located in Santa Anita Park, Calif. and covering more than a million square feet, the experience is fully synchronized to popular holiday music as visitors drive past hundreds of light-up displays, all while listening to the soundtrack on their car radio.
Among the displays are the world’s largest animated toy shop, shimmering with more than 250,000 lights.
Magical eyeglasses with holographic lenses, which must be purchased online in advance, allow guests to take part in a special 3-D Treasure Hunt; these are sold in packs of four only.
Visitors who would like to bring the magic into their car can purchase battery operated, foam Sonic Wands, which light up and “dance” to the music.
Santa Claus will make appearances each Magical Monday and on holidays, with the exception of Christmas Eve, when Mrs. Claus or Santa’s elves will take his place.
“Our team is working overtime to deliver a larger-than-life, completely immersive audio-visual experience to Southern California,” said World of Illumination CEO Yakir Urman. “Our goal is to provide an unforgettable event that creates lifelong memories for kids of all ages.”
Reindeer Road will be open from 6-10 p.m. each night, including holidays, from Nov. 17, 2021 through Jan. 2, 2022. The journey covers one mile, and takes approximately 25-30 minutes.
Ticket pricing ($79-$89) is per-vehicle, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles. Online reservations are required, with no ticket sales at the gate.
