With Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening in just two days at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Disney Parks Blog has shared a first look inside the highly-anticipated upcoming attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

When this attraction opens on Dec. 5 at Walt Disney World and Jan. 17, 2020 at Disneyland Resort, it will blur the lines between fantasy and reality into one unprecedented experience.

Guests will join the Resistance and board a transport ship to meet General Leia Organa at a secret rendezvous point. Unfortunately for you, the ship will be captured by a First Order Star Destroyer. Will you be able to escape Kylo Ren and his First Order troopers and make it back to Batuu?

This attraction is one of the largest ever created by Walt Disney Imagineering. The ride’s massive show building houses two full-sized AT-ATs and a Star Destroyer hangar bay filled with a garrison of Stormtroopers and a TIE fighter. Guests will encounter some of their favorite Star Wars characters, including Rey, Poe, Finn, Kylo Ren and General Hux.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will combine multiple ride systems into one experience to tell its unique and exciting story. In one part of the ride, a new simulator experience, not unlike Star Tours, will give guests the feeling that they’re falling from space and crash-landing on Batuu. In another part of the ride, guests will trace through a Star Destroyer in a trackless ride vehicle with an onboard droid that reacts to its surroundings.

A clip from inside the attraction was revealed during the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products panel at last weekend’s D23 Expo 2019, which you can watch below:
