‘Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella’ coming to Disney+ on Feb. 12

Impossible things are happening every day! At the stroke of midnight on Friday, Feb. 12, “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella” will be available to stream exclusively on Disney+.

The beloved televised movie musical stars Brandy in the title role, with Whitney Houston as the Fairy Godmother, alongside a star-studded cast that includes Whoopi Goldberg, Victor Garber, Bernadette Peters, Jason Alexander, and more.

The movie originally premiered on Nov. 2, 1997 to 60 million viewers during “The Wonderful World of Disney” on ABC and became an instant favorite to fans and critics alike, earning seven Emmy Award nominations. Known for its diverse representation and unforgettable song book, the 1997 film features an array of original songs by songwriting duo Rodgers & Hammerstein, including “Impossible,” “In My Own Little Corner,” “Ten Minutes Ago,” and more.

“Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella” will join the “Celebrate Black Stories” collection on Disney+ alongside “Soul,” “Black Panther,” “Black Is King,” and more.
