runDisney announces first-ever Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon for 2018
runDisney announced today that runners will have the chance to participate in the first-ever Star Wars Half Marathon in 2018.
Starting now through Feb. 28, racers can register for the new virtual race at runDisney.com, or this weekend, Jan. 3-6, at the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo during the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. Participants just have to complete 13.1 miles in their neighborhood, on the treadmill or wherever they prefer to exercise by March 31 to earn their uniquely designed Star Wars-themed medal.
The new virtual run also includes the 2018 Kessel Run Challenge, giving runners an opportunity to earn a special challenge medal for completing both the Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon at home, and the Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon on April 22 at Walt Disney World.
During registration, participants can made a donation to Starlight Children’s Foundation on behalf of Star Wars: Force for Change. Starlight Children’s Foundation seeks to bring comfort and happiness to children and their families through programming at children’s hospitals all over the world.
