‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ stars perform at Universal Studios Hollywood for LA Pride event
Earlier this Pride month, LA Pride took over Universal Studios Hollywood for an after-hours event called Pride is Universal. The main feature of the event was two live shows starring performers from the hit series, “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”
The stage was set up on the Lower Lot directly in front of Jurassic World – The Ride. DJ Brynn Taylor kept the tunes blasting all night long, and the drag shows were hosted by none other than Morgan McMichaels.
There were two completely different drag performances throughout the night. The first was at 11:00pm followed by 12:00am. Although primarily the same performers took the stage for both of the shows, the drag queens had complete wardrobe and wig changes between sets.
The show included performances from Kerri Colby, Angeria Paris VanMicheals, Jessica Wild and more. Both shows were packed with audience members completely focused on the performers as everyone danced the night away.
In addition to the drag show select Universal Studios Hollywood rides were open, including the new Super Nintendo World. Bars were set up throughout the park with a special VIP lounge for VIP ticket holders. And music filled the park with DJs placed strategically throughout.
Overall, it was a night full of fun and pride, and an absolute dream scenario for fans of “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” The only thing that could have made it better is if RuPaul herself performed.
