Academy-Award nominee Gosling stopped by the California theme park/movie studio April 27, 2024, along with “The Fall Guy” director David Leitch and Gosling’s stunt doubles, Ben Jenkins and Logan Holladay.

They surprised the 3,000 spectators attending the debut performance of “The Fall Guy Stuntacular Pre-Show.”

Now through May 19, “The Fall Guy Stuntacular Pre-Show” will take place at Universal Studios Hollywood prior to each performance of the park’s “WaterWorld” stunt show. The action in the pre-show involves jet skis, motorcycles, pyrotechnics, and, of course, falls.

“The Fall Guy,” which hits theaters May 3, stars Gosling as a stunt performer and Emily Blunt as the director of the film he’s in.

Gosling Says Stunt Performers Are “The Real Heroes”

During their visit, after some banter with the hot-tempered “director” of the pre-show, Gosling and Leitch talked to the audience about making “The Fall Guy.”

“Having been a stunt performer for 25 years, it’s a real personal film for me,” Leitch said. “There were a lot of stories we got to pull from to make that film.”

Gosling pointed out that his character in the movie begins his career in a stunt show just like the one the audience just watched.

Speaking to the onstage interviewer (herself a member of the stunt community), Gosling said, “Growing up as a fan of film, I realized so many of my favorite actors had stunt doubles. So many of my favorite parts of those films were the work of stunt performers and done by the stunt community. You all have contributed so much to cinema. You’re the real heroes, and it’s exciting to be part of a film that shines a light on how much you contribute.”

To that end, Gosling’s “The Fall Guy” stunt doubles, Ben Jenkins and Logan Holladay, waved at him from the audience and jokingly asked which of them is better looking.
