Salt & Straw brings back beer ice cream for a limited time
In honor of National Beer Day on April 7, 2023, Salt & Straw brought back beer ice cream so guests can celebrate National Beer Day all month long.
Salt & Straw is known for its unusual ice cream flavors with unique ingredients like blue cheese, potato salad, bone marrow, crickets, duck skin, and sea urchins.
Salt & Straw Beer Ice Cream
This month, Salt & Straw locations nationwide (including Disney Springs at Walt Disney World and the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort) are serving a flavor that beer fans might enjoy: Mango Habanero IPA Sorbet, which only contains trace amounts of alcohol.
This ice cream first appeared on a Salt & Straw menu at their Miami locations as the beer used in the ice cream comes from Miami’s first craft brewery, Laces IPA from Wynwood Brewing.
The beer combines with other ingredients until frozen. The fresh habanero, mangoes, and different citrus fruites provide a consistent sorbet flavor. Salt & Straw states that this will “awaken your senses with a fiery kick, followed by a flood of juicy, hop-heavy flavor.”
Once again, this beer ice cream (okay, it’s a sorbet which is technically not ice cream, but close) does not qualify as alcoholic since only a trace amount of the IPA remains in the finished product. In addition, the Mango Habanero IPA Sorbet qualifies as vegan since it is dairy-free. Salt & Straw consistently provides tasty vegan frozen treats year-round.
Other Limited-Time Flavors
Also, this month, Salt & Straw brought back four other ice cream flavors from “the vault.” The four limited-time flavors include nice twists on typical ice cream as well as Salt & Straw outside-the-box concoctions. Vault flavors guests can choose from are Honey Marshmallow Rocky Road, Sweet Corn & Waffle Cones, Strawberry Cilantro Lime Cheesecake, and Black Olive Brittle & Goat Cheese.
With the ability to sample all Salt & Straw ice cream flavors before you buy, all guests should be able to find a flavor that suits their taste.
