SeaWorld Christmas after-hours event debuting in Orlando
SeaWorld Orlando will introduce a new nighttime event called Coasters After Dark – Christmas Edition for the 2024 holiday season.

Coasters After Dark – Christmas Edition is an after-hours special event at SeaWorld Orlando in Florida, and we’ve got all the details!
Dates and hours for new SeaWorld Christmas event
Coasters After Dark – Christmas Edition will take place on:
- Nov. 8, 9, & 15, 2024 from 8-11 p.m.
- Nov. 22 and Dec. 6 & 13, 2024 from 9 p.m. – 12 a.m.
Guests can enter the park one hour prior to the event’s start time (while the park is still open to the public).
What the new event is (and what it’s not)
Coasters After Dark – Christmas Edition attendees can ride seven SeaWorld Orlando roller coasters after the park closes for the day, all surrounded by the park’s Christmas lights. SeaWorld promises low wait times, as the event will have limited capacity.
Coasters After Dark is a separately ticketed event not included with regular daytime admission to SeaWorld Orlando. Tickets to Coasters After Dark cost $50.
To be clear, Coasters After Dark – Christmas Edition will exist in addition to SeaWorld Orlando’s usual holiday season festivities, not in place of them. SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration will still take place during regular operating hours, included with admission, like it always has. (This year’s dates for Christmas Celebration are select days from Nov. 16 – Dec. 8, 2024 and daily from Dec. 13, 2024 – Jan. 2, 2025.)
Coasters After Dark is not simply all of the Christmas shows now behind a paywall; in fact, the usual Christmas entertainment won’t be performed during Coasters After Dark. That being said, several nights of Coasters After Dark take place on an evening when the regular operating day will conclude with fireworks (consult the park calendar), so if you come early, you might be able to start your night with a bang.
Roller coasters open during Coasters After Dark – Christmas Edition
Seven roller coasters will operate during the event:
- Mako
- Manta
- Kraken
- Ice Breaker
- Penguin Trek
- Journey to Atlantis
- Pipeline: The Surf Coaster
Dining during the event
Popcorn is included with event admission and available at Glacier Bar, High Seas Market, and Manta Market.
Food is available for purchase at other locations park-wide.
Tickets to Coasters After Dark – Christmas Edition at SeaWorld Orlando
Tickets are now available for $50 per person on SeaWorld’s website.
Update, Oct. 24, 2024: This story previously stated that fireworks will be performed at the conclusion of the regular operating day every night of Coasters After Dark. SeaWorld has since changed its entertainment schedule; fireworks are now slated for some, but not all, of the Coasters After Dark evenings.
