SeaWorld Orlando employees can be mask-free with vaccination card

Starting today, Tuesday, May 25, 2021, SeaWorld ambassadors (employees) no longer have to wear facial coverings if they have received the COVID-19 vaccine. While guests of the park have had the option to be mask-free, this is the first day employees have that choice, provided they have been vaccinated.

SeaWorld Orlando confirmed with us that today is the first day of optional mask mandates for employees who are vaccinated. SeaWorld stated, “In accordance with CDC guidance, face coverings are no longer required for guests and ambassadors who are fully vaccinated.” In the past, mask mandates has applied to all Florida-based SeaWorld Entertainment parks, like Discovery Cove, Aquatica and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. So it’s expected to be applied to all those locations this time as well, although SeaWorld officials didn’t confirm that with us.

SeaWorld was the first of the big three theme park companies in Orlando to make masks optional, in any area of the park, for guests who are vaccinated. SeaWorld does not require proof of vaccination for guests, and asks them to follow the rules according to their vaccination status.

SeaWorld is also the first of the big three theme parks in Orlando to bring back parades in the park. Their famous summer event, Electric Ocean, begins this Friday. This will bring the return of regularly scheduled firework spectaculars back to Orlando.
