SeaWorld Parks to celebrate 36,000th animal rescue with Rescue Weekend
For 55 years, SeaWorld has worked for the rescue and rehabilitation of marine and terrestrial animals – and has just announced that 36,000 animals have been rescued since the first park opened in 1964.
To celebrate the occasion, all three SeaWorld parks will host a special Rescue Weekend event on Nov. 16-17, where park guests can speak directly with members of the animal rescue and rehabilitation team to learn more about how animals are cared for at SeaWorld parks.
SeaWorld Orlando
On Saturday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., guests can join biologists from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) to hear about how these organizations partner with SeaWorld on rescue efforts.
Throughout the weekend, guests can visit the home base of the SeaWorld Rescue Team to meet and hear from the experts who work to deliver life-saving care to animals in need.
SeaWorld Rescue keychains and SeaWorld Cares magnets will be given out every day during Rescue Weekend at the SeaWorld Rescue store. Limited quantities will be available each day (while supplies last), and there is a limit of one of each per guest.

Guests can explore the Rescue Plaza and learn from the SeaWorld Rescue Team from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Nov. 16-17, see the Rescue Truck and Zodiac, and even attend a meet-and-greet and demonstrations with the Rescue Team.
