SeaWorld San Diego adds new nighttime drone show to summer lineup
SeaWorld San Diego is expanding its summer entertainment with the debut of “Ocean of Dreams,” a new nightly drone show launching May 22, 2026.
Using 600 synchronized drones, the park is turning to sky-based storytelling to anchor its nighttime lineup—moving beyond traditional finales into a repeatable, tech-driven experience guests can expect every evening.
From testing to full production
Earlier this year, SeaWorld San Diego received approval to test a drone-based nighttime show, hinting at a shift in how the park approaches after-dark entertainment. That concept has now evolved into a full-scale production with a defined run and seasonal schedule.
A 12-minute aerial ocean story
“Ocean of Dreams” transforms the sky into a stylized underwater world, with formations depicting marine animals including dolphins, sharks, sea otters, and an orca. The visuals and soundtrack are said to have ocean conservation themes, tying directly into SeaWorld’s broader positioning around marine education.

The all-new Ocean of Dreams drone show joins SeaWorld San Diego’s Summer Spectacular lineup, delivering nonstop summer entertainment including a vibrant parade, thrilling stunt shows, fan-favorite characters, and the return of the Summer Concert Series featuring iconic hip hop and R&B artists from the ’90s and early 2000s on select Saturdays. Guests can also experience the All-New Shark Encounter exhibit, also opening on May 22, offering an immersive up-close look at some of the ocean’s most fascinating predators.
