Second Mattel Adventure Park project faces new uncertainty amid Kansas stadium discussions
Mattel and Epic Resort Destinations announced plans for Mattel Adventure Park Kansas City back in 2024, as an all-new, family-friendly themed entertainment destination in Bonner Springs, Kansas. Now, the park faces an uncertain future.
Originally set to open in 2026, the second theme park from Mattel and Epic Resort Destinations will offer the same attractions as Mattel Adventure Park Glendale, Ariz., including two Hot Wheels-themed roller coasters, a Barbie Rooftop restaurant and bar, and much more.

This new destination is sure to provide infinite fun for the whole family.”
Plans for the proposed second Mattel Adventure Park in Kansas City appear to face fresh uncertainty, as new reporting links the entertainment district project to ongoing stadium discussions involving the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals.
Barbie’s Dream Home is on the line
Following Barbie’s renewed popularity (thanks to the blockbuster movie), Mattel Adventure Park Kansas City will feature a larger-than-life Barbie Beach House. The attraction will also include an interactive retail experience where fans can create customized Barbie sets in the Barbie Dream Closet Experience, which uses hologram technology to bring Barbie to life. The attraction also includes a unique, Barbie-themed flying theater and The Barbie Rooftop restaurant and bar.
