Shanghai Disney Resort brings back Duffy Month this September

by Susan and Simon Veness

Shanghai Disney Resort has launched Duffy Month in honor of the cuddly character, Duffy the Disney Bear, with exciting activities, delightful culinary offerings, and specialty merchandise, throughout the entire month of September.

Shanghai Disney Resort Duffy Month

Mickey Mouse’s adorable stuffed teddy bear, Duffy, is the star of the celebration as Duffy Month livens up the park from Sept. 1-30, highlighted by a colorful floral display at the entryway, interactive selfie spots, and a special welcome performance by the main bear himself, and his furry Friends.

Minnie Lane, along Mickey Avenue, is the place to find charming miniature sets and “social walls” with Duffy-themed backdrops, to capture those all-important photo memories.

And who can resist the chance to dance with Mickey, Minnie, Duffy, and his Friends to the high energy theme song, “Magical Surprise,” honoring Shanghai Disney Resort’s 5th Birthday Celebration?

Disney’s culinary team has designed a delicious line-up of Duffy inspired sweet treats and refreshing beverage offerings to keep the party atmosphere going, too.

Watch for Duffy and Friends-themed ice cream and cute, limited-edition souvenirs while wandering the park, including the Duffy and Friends Surprise Sipper and Popcorn Bucket, created especially for Shanghai Disney Resort’s 5th birthday.

Duffy Weekend Brunch

The Royal Banquet Hall inside Enchanted Storybook Castle is the place to find the fun Duffy Weekend Brunch, featuring bear-themed bites and mocktails.

After a day spent celebrating Mickey’s fluffy friend, guests can take home a magical remembrance from the Duffy and Friends Craft Time collection.

Duffy Month specialty merchandise

This new line of merchandise was dreamed up specifically for the month-long celebration, and it includes plush toys, keychains, vintage-style knitting crossover bags, and backpacks.

Want to keep the fun going? Lumiére’s Kitchen at the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel invites diners to take part in interactive activities, such as dessert decorating and sugar painting, while they enjoy a scrumptious meal.

All of these happy surprises — and more! — will be revealed throughout the month, so be sure to check out ShanghaiDisneyResort.com for the latest updates and information.
