StellaLou arrives at Shanghai Disney Resort this spring

This spring also marks the arrival of Duffy’s newest friend, StellaLou, the lavender rabbit. When StellaLou met Duffy, she told him of her hopes to become a Broadway dancer and taught him what it means to “follow your dreams.” Now she’s headed to Shanghai Disneyland to join Duffy and his other friends on Mickey Avenue.

A special welcome ceremony will be hosted at the Storytellers Statue for StellaLou on March 8, the first day of the spring season at the park and International Women’s Day, and will feature Minnie Mouse, ShelllieMay, Daisy and other Mickey Avenue friends as StellaLou makes her first official appearance at the park.

Starting March 8, guests will be able to meet StellaLou on Mickey Avenue and take a look at over 20 new StellaLou merchandise offerings at Sweethearts Confectionary. The merchandise lineup includes 16 exclusive items including limited edition pins, jewelry, phone cases and more.

Remy’s Patisserie and Il Paperino will also be serving sweet new treats to celebrate StellaLou’s arrival, like blueberry parfaits, jasmine cheesecakes topped with mini StellaLou chocolates, key lime milkshakes, macaroon gift boxes and a collectible StellaLou drink goblet.

Guests visiting Disneytown this spring may get to see StellaLou during pop-up performances Friday through Sunday.

Spring flowers transforms the park into a floral fantasy world

The park will be transformed for spring as the warm weather spreads through Shanghai Disney Resort. At the park’s entrance, Floral Mickey will welcome guests with thousands of flowers in a special design to celebrate the season. In the Gardens of Imagination, guests will see a floral explosion of plum blossoms, cherry trees, and the resort’s own apple “Floral Archway,” as well as spring favorites like roses, tulips and daffodils.

Guests will be able to take photos among the blooms throughout the entire resort, and with a special photo spot in front of the Enchanted Storybook Castle. Flower boxes and blooming trees in Fantasyland will also provide a great shot, while tropical flowers in Treasure Cove and Adventure Isle will add an exotic touch.

New blooms and buds will give guests a unique spring surprise with every visit. Guests can see their favorite flowering plum and Yulan magnolias in March; see cherry trees, azaleas and wisteria in April; and experience the romance with a sea of red, yellow and white roses in May.

New entertainment, events, merchandise and treats to celebrate the season

The spring season will bring even more fun to Shanghai Disney Resort with new festivities, entertainment, merchandise, food and beverage and events, including:

Egg-citing festivities for spring

Some of the special festivities will include an egg expedition that builds upon the popular egg scavenger hunt from last year at the park. The large sculpted eggs from Gardens of Imagination and Disneytown will return with brand new eggs decorated like Duffy and his friends. To celebrate the opening of the new Disney/Pixar Toy Story Land, eggs featuring the Toy Story characters can be found for guests to find and take photos with.

New performances with Duffy’s friend StellaLou

This spring, the Mickey Avenue Disney Friends will welcome StellaLou with style with a new “Duffy and Friends” show in front of the Whistle Stop Shop. The show will feature a group of dancers along with Mickey, Minnie, Duffy, ShellieMay, Gelatoni and StellaLou as the lavender bunny leads everyone in a fun dance routine.

Both Gelatoni and StellaLou will join the cast of “Zao Shang Hao, Mickey,” the popular character gathering in Celebration Square each morning from March 9 – June 1.

Themed merchandise to celebrate the season

For a limited time, Shanghai Disney resort will release over 30 specially designed merchandise items with spring designs and colors. Guests will find bags, mugs, push toys, keychains and more, like a Judy Hopps egg-shaped plush cross-bag and a notepad shaped like eggs in a flower basket. Guests can even wear matching spring-themed shirts and headbands.

Trading Pin fans will be excited to see the new limited-release pins and pin frame sets to add to their collections. Guests will also be able to purchase new spring costumes for Duffy and ShellieMay plushes.
