Sidewinder Safari made its debut for Pass Holders at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom on May 27, 2022, and has opened to the public today, May 28, 2022.
Enter a jungle-like setting, where real live snakes, lizards, and other reptiles “surround” you as you queue toward your safari adventure. Then, board Sidewinder Safari roller coaster for a thrilling ride along 1,378 feet of slithering track.
The ride’s opening marks the arrival of the park’s 11th roller coaster and adds another animal encounter to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom’s existing animal experiences.

Sidewinder Safari spinning roller coaster highlights include:
- Multiple 360-degree sideways spins
- Rapid-strike drops
- Hairpin curves that twist and turn
- Spinning ride vehicles seating up to four guests
- Tops speed of 29 m.p.h.
- Duration of 2 minutes and 30 seconds
- Elevation of 43 feet
The attraction is located next to Odin’s Temple of the Tiger stadium, and it joins more than 60 attraction in the park, including fellow spinning coaster, Batman: The Ride 4-D roller coaster.
