Sipping and sampling at ‘The Science of Wine’

Recently, Attractions Magazine was invited to attend “The Science of Wine” at The Orlando Science Center. This year marks the return of the long running fundraiser after its cancellation the last two years due to COVID. The event is an all-inclusive ticket allowing guests to sample more than 150 different wines from around the world, as well as food from local restaurants and caterers.

The souvenir wine glasses were particularly handy eliminating the need for disposable cups or constant dish washing.

The weather was perfect for the portions of the event which took place on the terrace. Most of the food vendors were set up outside, along with more wine and entertainment.

The wide variety of food was really impressive, including vegan options such as these Mezze Skewers with muhammara from local restaurant Hungry Pants.

Some unexpected offerings came from Disney’s Animal Kingdom restaurant, Yak and Yeti. Here, we sampled their Bo Ssam Korean Pork Belly Lettuce Wraps.

The wine vendors had no problem settling into the Science Center’s environment and served up delicious wine for the whole event.

Missing this year were some of the enjoyable seminars of the past, which taught about wine pairings and more of the Science of Wine. While a bit smaller than in year’s past, it’s wonderful to see local favorite events such as this one starting to return.

Hopefully this pace will continue and we’ll see “The Science of Wine” next year, bigger and better than ever!
