Six Flags Fright Fest Extreme
Six Flags’ annual Fright Fest haunt event in its U.S. and Mexico parks has become Fright Fest Extreme during spooky season 2024. The overhauled event infuses haunted houses based on high-profile horror franchises — including some that have previously been part of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal parks (among those, though, the Six Flags counterparts are completely separate experiences).

Spread across various Fright Fest Extreme events at Six Flags parks will be haunted houses based on “Annabelle,” “Army of the Dead,” “The Conjuring,” DC Comics, “The Nun,” “Saw,” “Stranger Things,” “Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” and “Trick ‘r Treat.” Many are new to any Six Flags park.
The Dancing Man returns
To announce Fright Fest Extreme, Six Flags released a promotional video over the summer of the parks’ “dancing man” mascot. He’s once again up to his energetic moves; that is, until he meets an unfortunate fate.

“One of the main concepts behind creating this maze was this idea of scaring you to the point of no return,” said Edithann Ramey, chief marketing offer at Six Flags. “It really needed to feel like you started at the beginning, you finished, and there was a story that was told to you that would stay with you long afterward. Inspired by the series, the maze is designed to be cerebral, psychological, and super scary.”

“We’ve crafted an experience that’s perfect for both die-hard fans and newcomers, ensuring that everyone feel that intense, nerve-wracking terror that has defined the series,” said Zack Crooker, Lionsgate’s creative lead on the “Saw: Legacy of Terror” haunted house at Six Flags. “Of course, there will be white-knuckle scares throughout, but this year, guests’ actions will determine the outcomes they face — the choices you make decide whether you escape or fall victim to the horror lurking inside. Chaperone policy for Six Flags Fright Fest Extreme
New for several parks this year, Six Flags Fright Fest Extreme has a chaperone policy.
Guests under age 16 (or under age 17 at Six Flags America) must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 21 years old. That adult must bring their I.D. and stay in the park for the length of the minors’ visit. For large groups, Six Flags requires one chaperone per 10 minors.
This chaperone policy is in effect for Fright Fest Extreme 2024 at all Six Flags parks with the exception of Six Flags Darien Lake, Six Flags Frontier City, and Six Flags Great Escape.
Consult your local Six Flags’ “park policies” page for full terms.
