Zombie Wonder Woman and more ‘DCeased’ super heroes coming to WB Movie World

Zombie Wonder Woman will terrorize guests during Fright Nights at WB Movie World in Australia in the all-new “DCeased” haunted maze, named after the DC Comics series of the same name.

The Queensland-based theme park says “DCeased” will be “the world’s first horror maze” when it debuts at Fright Nights on Oct. 6, 2023. WB Movie World cryptically questions, “Will the Justice League be the ones to save the Earth or will they be the ones to end it?”

Zombie Wonder Woman arrives at Fright Nights

The park released a 20-second teaser trailer showing Zombie Wonder Woman out for the kill. Four “locked” additional videos on the park’s website imply the story will continue with successive teasers in the coming weeks.

“DCeased,” The Comic Starring Zombie DC Super Heroes

The new maze finds inspiration from the 2019 comic series entitled “DCeased,” written by Tom Taylor with art by Trevor Hairsine, James Harren, Stefano Gaudiano, and Rain Beredo.

The cover of the run’s premiere issue, drawn by Greg Capullo, hails in large lettering, “The end of everything starts here!”

DC Comics officially describes the “DCeased” comic book story this way:

A mysterious techno-virus has been released on Earth, infecting 600 million people and turning them instantly into violent, monstrous engines of destruction.

The heroes of the DCU are caught completely unprepared for a pandemic of this magnitude and struggle to save their loved ones first…but what happens to the World’s Greatest Heroes if the world ends?

Many other DC characters join Wonder Woman in the “DCeased” comics. Perusing the series’ roster might yield speculation as to who else might show up in the Fright Nights maze. The comics’ cast includes Superman, Batman, Robin, The Flash, Black Lightning, Alfred, Darkseid, Green Arrow, Big Barda, Cyborg, Green Lantern, Black Canary, Mister Miracle, and Nightwing.

You can read “DCeased” by finding a local comic book shop or joining DC Universe Infinite online.

More Haunts at WB Movie World’s Fright Nights

Fright Nights will take place at WB Movie World on Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 6-28, 2023, plus an additional Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023.

In addition to “DCeased,” the event will debut another new maze, “Circuse.” Its backstory involves survivors of an abandoned, burned-down circus.

More Spooky Super Heroes in Theme Parks

“DCeased” at WB Movie World won’t be the first time zombie-fied super heroes have appeared at a theme park Halloween event.

In 2021, Zombie Captain America from “What If…?” haunted guests during Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney California Adventure.

For a brief stint in 2002 and 2003, Universal Orlando hosted Halloween Horror Nights at Islands of Adventure rather than the usual venue next door, Universal Studios Florida. The park’s unique islands received Halloween makeovers. The Orlando Sentinel reported, “On Marvel Super Hero Island, you’ll encounter melting mutant people, victims of some kind of toxic episode; men in decontamination suits and green foam cannons enter the picture.”

Wonder Woman fans attending Fright Nights may want to visit WB Movie World during regular operating hours to experience Justice League 3D. The ride is not open during Fright Nights.
