Six Flags Great Adventure reveals 4 new holiday lands, entertainment for 2026
Six Flags Great Adventure has revealed four immersive holiday lands and new entertainment coming to Holiday in the Park when the reimagined celebration opens Nov. 21, 2026, at the New Jersey theme park.
Six Flags is rolling out its reimagined Holiday in the Park simultaneously at both Six Flags Great Adventure and Six Flags Over Georgia, with each park debuting new immersive lands as part of a multi-year transformation.
The returning event will feature millions of holiday lights, a 65-foot Christmas tree, live shows, interactive experiences and seasonal treats. Season Passholders will get an early look during an exclusive preview Nov. 20.
“We heard our guests loud and clear,” said John Reilly, president and CEO of Six Flags Entertainment Corporation.
“Holiday in the Park has long been a cornerstone event at these properties, and we’ve taken everything we’ve learned to thoughtfully evolve the experience. This brand-new Holiday in the Park captures the heart and wonder of the season while maximizing the warmth of the day for rides and entertainment and offering plenty of cozy ways for guests to warm up. This is a more intentional, more magical holiday celebration—designed to delight all generations.”
The fan-favorite seasonal event is being rebuilt into what Six Flags describes as a “living holiday storybook,” blending festive décor, seasonal food, live performances, and select thrill rides into a more cohesive, story-driven celebration.

Last year, Holiday in the Park was cancelled and became part of a broader rethink of Six Flags’ holiday strategy across its portfolio.
A full Holiday in the Park transformation begins in 2026
At the center of the overhaul are four all-new immersive themed lands, debuting at Great Adventure as part of a multi-year investment that will continue to expand in future seasons.
Guests will move through environments designed as cozy winter villages and glowing holiday spaces, each with its own décor, atmosphere, and seasonal storytelling elements. The goal is to create a more unified experience compared to previous versions of Holiday in the Park, which were more loosely themed.
The creative vision is led by Logan Wince, an accomplished creative director whose immersive approach blends theatrical design, storytelling and large-scale park transformations.

Four new holiday lands at Six Flags Great Adventure
Holiday in the Park will feature four themed lands, each with its own decorations, entertainment and seasonal experiences. Six Flags has revealed the names and first details of all four areas ahead of the event’s November opening.
Glittering Gateway
The holiday celebration begins at Glittering Gateway, where guests will encounter illuminated trees, oversized decorations and thousands of synchronized twinkling lights.
The centerpiece is a 65-foot Christmas tree featuring choreographed lighting effects. The area will also host a nightly Tree Lighting Spectacular and the Glistening Snow Show, which combines festive music, lights and falling snow.
Santa’s Arctic North Pole
Santa’s Arctic North Pole will offer a winter wonderland filled with glowing evergreens, holiday characters and family activities.
Guests can meet Santa Claus, enjoy live holiday music and entertainment, and make s’mores with Santa’s helpers. The area will also feature gathering spaces with fire pits and interactive character encounters.

Coastal Christmas
The recently transformed Shoreline Pier will become Coastal Christmas, a holiday celebration inspired by the Jersey Shore.
The area will feature sparkling palm trees, coastal-themed Christmas decorations, seasonal live entertainment and festive gathering spaces. Six Flags is incorporating a distinctly New Jersey setting into its traditional holiday celebration.
Sweet Street
Sweet Street will bring a candy-inspired atmosphere to Holiday in the Park, with colorful decorations and interactive experiences.

One of its featured attractions will be the Sweet Tooth Stage Silent Disco, where guests can participate in a holiday dance experience. Additional details about the area’s interactive activities have not yet been announced.
More entertainment and interactive holiday experiences
Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Great Adventure will feature an expanded lineup of live entertainment and interactive activities, including:
- Holiday Road: LIVE on Tour! — A new holiday production at Showcase Theater.
- Sweet Tooth Stage Silent Disco — A dance experience in the new Sweet Street holiday land.
- Elf Craze Mirror Maze — A holiday-themed mirror maze experience.
- Tree Lighting Spectacular — A nightly lighting ceremony featuring the park’s 65-foot Christmas tree.
- Glistening Snow Show — Festive music, shimmering lights and falling snow.
- Holiday carolers and live musicians — Seasonal performances throughout the park.
- Holiday characters — Interactive encounters and festive photo opportunities.
Additional holiday activities will include visits with Santa Claus, s’mores with Santa’s helpers, gathering spaces with fire pits, and specialty seasonal food and beverages.
Rides, lights, and a full day-to-night experience
Alongside the new experiences, many thrill rides and family attractions will remain open during the event. Guests can ride coasters during the day and at night, and see the park transformed by holiday lighting.
According to Six Flags, the event’s schedule is designed to balance daytime comfort with nighttime atmosphere, encouraging longer visits that span both parts of the day.

A reimagined holiday tradition for Great Adventure
Six Flags leadership says the changes directly respond to guest feedback, with a focus on creating a more intentional and immersive experience across the park.
While Holiday in the Park will also return to other Six Flags parks in 2026, Great Adventure is among the first to debut this reimagined version.
