Six Flags Over Georgia turns Holiday in the Park into a full-scale seasonal transformation
Six Flags Over Georgia is bringing back Holiday in the Park in 2026, but the returning seasonal event is being positioned as something far larger than a typical holiday overlay. The company is going to unwrap a fully reimagined, multi-year transformation of the park’s winter offering.

Last year marked the cancellation of Holiday in the Park in 2025, part of a broader rethink of Six Flags’ holiday strategy across its portfolio.

According to the park, Holiday in the Park will relaunch in fall 2026 with a “complete creative transformation,” introducing new immersive environments, expanded entertainment, and interactive guest experiences.
The initial phase will debut three fully themed holiday lands, with additional areas planned in future years as part of a long-term investment strategy. This approach shows Six Flags is expanding beyond a model of seasonal décor overlays toward something closer to a scalable, repeat-visit event.

What guests can expect at Holiday in the Park 2026
The reimagined event is designed as a park-wide transformation, with offerings spanning entertainment, activities, and attractions.
Highlights include:
- Nightly tree lighting spectaculars and holiday entertainment
- Parade floats, carolers, and indoor stage shows
- Immersive themed areas with large-scale décor and lighting
- Interactive experiences like cookie decorating and gingerbread building
- Photos with Santa and a family-friendly indoor walkthrough attraction
- Seasonal food and beverage offerings curated by the park’s culinary team
Many rides at Six Flags Over Georgia, including major coasters and family attractions, are expected to operate during the event, allowing for daytime and nighttime experiences under holiday lighting.
“I may have just joined the Six Flags Over Georgia team, but together we’re moving fast to enhance the 2026 season beyond our guests’ expectations,” said Richard Pretlow, park president. “They spoke, and we listened. Holiday in the Park has been a treasured tradition here, and we’re excited to bring it back—reimagined, redesigned and ready to sparkle with the magic that only Georgia can bring.”

The creative vision is led by Logan Wince, an accomplished creative director whose immersive approach blends theatrical design, storytelling and large-scale park transformations.
“This event is about wrapping our guests in warmth, wonder and joy the moment they step through the gates,” said Kelly Daugherty, entertainment director for Six Flags.
“Every detail—from the lighting and décor to the music, characters and shows—has been carefully designed to feel emotionally rich, playful, and celebratory. We wanted each land to feel like you’ve stepped inside a holiday dream, where traditions feel familiar but the experience is fresh, awe-inspiring and full of heart.”

Will it be worth the wait?
The return follows a significant gap year. Six Flags Over Georgia (and other Six Flags parks) cancelled its 2025 Holiday in the Park event. Six Flags leadership has been reevaluating its seasonal events strategy more broadly, focusing on quality, guest experience, and long-term value rather than maintaining every legacy event year to year.
