See full details below for the cancellation of holiday events at Six Flags Great Adventure (in Jackson Township, N.J.) and Six Flags Over Georgia (near Atlanta, Ga.), as well as the cancellation of Halloween events at Six Flags America (near Washington, D.C.) and Michigan’s Adventure (in Muskegon, Mich.).

Holiday and Halloween events at other Six Flags parks, such as WinterFest at Carowinds and Knott’s Scary Farm at Knott’s Berry Farm, to name a few, remain on schedule at the time of this writing.

Six Flags merged with Cedar Fair in 2024. Guests who purchase a 2026 season pass (or renew their 2025 pass for 2026) at any Six Flags park receive free admission to all other 53 Six Flags parks, good for the remainder of 2025 and all of 2026.

Six Flags Great Adventure

At Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township, N.J., “Holiday in the Park” is canceled for 2025. The event was known for Christmas lights and holiday entertainment. Due to the cancellation, Six Flags Great Adventure passholders received a free bring-a-friend ticket good for the remainder of the 2025 season.

The park has not finalized its year-end 2025 operating dates, a representative from Six Flags Great Adventure told Attractions Magazine.

Six Flags Great Adventure’s fall events — Fright Fest and Kids Boo Fest — will go on as scheduled.

At Six Flags Over Georgia near Atlanta, Ga., “Holiday in the Park” is canceled for 2025. The park’s season will continue through Nov. 30, sans holiday festivities.

Six Flags Over Georgia will debut a new event called Heroes Fest starting Nov. 9. “It’s a celebration of your favorite heroes alongside everyday heroes in our local community,” a Six Flags representative told Attractions Magazine. Other Six Flags parks have hosted DC Heroes and Villains Fest, branded with DC Comics characters like Superman and Batman.

Six Flags Over Georgia’s fall events — Fright Fest, Kids Boo Fest, and Oktoberfest — will go on as scheduled.

Six Flags America

At Six Flags America near Washington, D.C., the Fright Fest haunt event during Halloween season is canceled for 2025, according to local news station WUSA9.

As previously announced, Six Flags America will permanently close at the conclusion of the 2025 season. Fright Fest was slated to be the very last thing to ever happen on the park’s final operating day, Nov. 2. Operating hours on the park website’s calendar only display through Sept. 1, but the website still says the family-friendly Kids Boo Fest is happening through Nov. 2.

Michigan’s Adventure

At Michigan’s Adventure in Muskegon, Mich., the family-friendly “Tricks and Treats” event is canceled for 2025, according to local news station WOODTV. Michigan’s Adventure will shorten its operating season entirely, the final day of its 2025 calendar now being Sept. 1.
