Sosa Family Cigars closing at Disney Springs after 25 years

Sosa Family Cigars has been a staple of Disney Springs for 25 years, all the way back to when the Walt Disney World shopping complex was known as Downtown Disney. The last day for the cigar store is Monday, Jan. 2, 2023.

Located on Disney Springs West Side, Sosa Family Cigar is a 5th-generation cigar emporium. They have a small smoking area and sell a variety of cigar boxes, tobacco, and accessories.

The Disney Springs website describes them as “Recognized as one of the country’s leading retailers, Sosa’s family-run shop stocks over 80 acclaimed cigar brands—including hard-to-find Opus X and Fuente Hemingway—and has been in the industry for over 70 years! Wall-to-wall cigars are kept fresh at the perfect temperature in this solid cedar humidor room, which also showcases the fine art of hand-rolling long-leaf cigars.”

The store was a 1997 Downtown Disney West Side opening store. When they first opened, some of their neighboring stores included Hoypoloi gift shop, Magnetron, and a magic shop, all long since closed. In fact, the only establishments still on the West Side after 25 years are Disney’s Candy Caudron, the AMC theater, Cirque du Soleil, Planet Hollywood, and the House of Blues (Wolfgang Puck is still at Disney Springs, but in a new location).

Although Sosa won’t be opening a new store, you will be able to still purchase their cigars at antilliancigars.com. There’s no word on what will be going into their location. What would you like to see in this location? Let us know in the comments below.

  1. The greatest Disney news in all of 2022! Every time I was asked to do the DS survey I would ask them to move that place over on the far side of House of Blues far away from the normal foot traffic. And now that there is an ice cream place right next to it I don’t want that stench eating some dessert.

    1. Reid is the type you want to avoid at Disney. If you don’t smoke, don’t smoke.

No one is shaming you for your love of desserts– also an unhealthy life CHOICE.

  2. I would say to Reid to trim your millennial beard a little closer and pull your panties up higher, quit having nasty things to say about what other people are doing and mind your business. I’ve me some really great people in this establishment.

  3. Sosa and Bongos were two staples for me when visiting Disney Springs. Nothing like a Mojito and fine cigar. Too bad both are now gone.
