Spider-Verse variant covers imagine different Marvel heroes in place of Peter Parker

We all know what happened when a radioactive spider bit Peter Parker: the kid from Queens became Spider-Man. But what if the spider bit other Marvel heroes instead? Comic book readers will find out this May, thanks to variant Spider-Verse covers.

The multiverse is the hot new narrative in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Recent movies like “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” depicted alternate realities and multiple versions of familiar heroes. In comic books, though, the multiverse has a longstanding history (even with Mickey and pals for Disney100), and the new Spider-Verse variant covers continue that tradition.

New Titles Just Revealed

There will be 28 covers total, with the first of them launching May 3, 2023. While Marvel previously announced most of them last month, the company just revealed new titles to complete the collection.

These include variant covers spotlighting Emma Frost, Daredevil, Wolverine, Captain America, Punisher, Hulk, and more. Marvel even calls Amazing Spider-Man #26, in which the spider bites Mary Jane, “the most shocking Amazing Spider-Man issue in 50 years.”
