Fans of sweet treats at the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort will have to look somewhere besides Sprinkles Cupcakes as the bakery has closed in preparation for something new.

The official Sprinkles website no longer lists this location, and the Disneyland website has also removed Sprinkles from the restaurant choices. Although this location has closed, the other Disney Sprinkles at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida continues to produce sweet treats.

Other Sweet Options

Sprinkles fans in the Anaheim area should not be too worried as there are several other Sprinkles locations in the Los Angeles area, and a total of ten throughout California.

Downtown Disney District also offers several other options to satisfy your sweet tooth, including Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes, Salt & Straw, and Kayla’s Cake, all of which provide premium dessert options in the Downtown Disney District.

Reimagining Downtown Disney

Disney confirmed that the Sprinkles location closing its doors is related to Downtown Disney’s new Paseo and Centrico. The Catal Restaurant closing this week also relates to that restaurant project.

Porto's is coming to Downtown Disney

Downtown Disney District has already made many changes this year, including the closure of La Brea Bakery to make way for the future opening of Porto’s Bakery and Café. In addtion, Earl of Sandwich returned to the Downtown Disney District with a counter service option and a table service option known as Earl of Sandwich Tavern.

Din Tai Fung, a well-known Taiwanese restaurant, is also coming to feed the hungry Disney crowds. However, we still do not have an exact date for this restaurant’s opening.
