Star Wars auction includes an X-Wing and Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Lightsaber
Over 1,800 lots will be auctioned during the Propstore Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction on June 21-24, 2022, in Valencia, Calif., with over 200 lots of “Star Wars” props, including a screen-matched X-wing model from “A New Hope” (1977), Yoda’s Puppet Hand from “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back” (1980), and lightsabers wielded by Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the prequel trilogy.

“With May 25th being the 45th anniversary of ‘Star Wars: A New Hope,’ it’s truly a historic moment for Propstore,” said COO Brandon Alinger. “For the first time ever, we are auctioning a screen-matched Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) Red Leader X-wing Starfighter Pyrotechnic Model Miniature from ‘Star Wars: A New Hope.’ The model is screen-matched to a memorable shot in the film and photo-matched to multiple behind-the-scenes production shots, providing unquestionable authenticity.”

The never-before-auctioned Red Leader X-wing Starfighter Pyrotechnic Model Miniature (Lot #386) from “A New Hope” (1977) – estimated to sell for $500,000 – $1,000,000 – is undoubtedly the “big ticket” item, but the auction also includes Yoda’s puppet hand (Lot #398) used by Frank Oz in “The Empire Strikes Back” (1980), which is estimated at “only” $10,000 – $15,000.
