Super Nintendo World to host grand opening at Universal Studios Japan on March 18
After being postponed earlier this year due to COVID-19, Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan now has a new grand opening date.

This immersive new land will bring the world of Nintendo’s Super Mario games to life on March 18, 2021. The re-scheduled grand opening of the land will be the kick-off for Universal Studios Japan’s year-long 20th anniversary celebration.
Super Nintendo World is the first multi-level land at the park, and features two attraction – Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge and Yoshi’s Adventure. There is also a themed restaurant—Kinopio’s Cafe—retail shops, and other unique and interactive experiences.
You can listen to a first-hand account of the land from Chris Nilghe of TDR Explorer on a previous episode of The Attractions Podcast below, or pick up a copy of our upcoming Spring 2021 issue, on sale soon, which features the new land’s opening as the cover story.
