Super Nintendo World plane takes to the skies with Spirit Airlines
A plane in Spirit Airlines’ fleet now sports a Mario wrap in celebration of Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood.
How to Fly on the Mario Airplane
The Airbus A320neo’s Mushroom Kingdom trimmings debuted Feb. 21, 2024. The inaugural flight traveled from Detroit, Mich. to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The aircraft will continue to fly with the Nintendo wrap through May 2024, traveling between various cities that Spirit services.
According to Spirit, “Flight bookings on the specially-themed aircraft are based on the plane’s flying schedule.”
The name displayed on the vessel’s exterior reads “N986NK.” Prospective flyers hoping to board the Mario airplane can track this aircraft’s schedule through Flightradar24.com, an unofficial resource not affiliated with Spirit.
The ornamentation commemorates the first anniversary of Super Nintendo World, a land within Universal’s Hollywood, Calif. theme park. There, guests can ride Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge and dine at Toadstool Café.
