Take a close-up look at Cinderella Castle’s rose gold 50th Anniversary update

Disney announced an update to the Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World back in February. Since then, hard work has been done and the update is now nearly complete. A new paint scheme has given a rose gold-inspired look to this classic castle. These photos give a close-up view of the new look.

Seen here, Cinderella’s Fountain sits near her new pink castle. The castle has gotten other design changes in the past, including the controversial Birthday Cake Castle.

Occasionally, the castle gets color scheme changes and updates for some major Disney Parks events. In 2005, Cinderella Castle was adorned with gold to celebrate Disneyland’s 50th anniversary.

Looking down Main Street, U.S.A. is the classic castle view. At first, some Disney fans were afraid that the new pink color scheme would be too drastic and look too cartoon-y. But, seen here, the shade of pink is more subtle than originally expected.

Here is a comparison GIF with a look at the castle from Christmas compared to the castle’s look now. The new color scheme has certainly added a bunch of contrast to the towers.

In fact, it seems that the blue rooftops got the most drastic change. The blue appears to be a violet color from certain angles. The sunlight makes a big difference for all of the new colors of the castle.

The castle wasn’t the only structure to get a change. The nearby turrets also got the paint update. The highly reflective gold can really be seen in this shot.

The gold accents make a bold change to the castle’s front. With ample sunlight, the castle glistens from all angles.

From far away, the pink seems to fade away, but the new vibrant blue rooftops are still very strong.
