Tarzan’s Treehouse at Disneyland park is getting a whole new theme

Tarzan’s Treehouse in Adventureland at Disneyland park has been closed since September 2021, and Disney officials have stated it will reopen with a new theme and backstory.

The walk-through (or, more accurately, climb-through) treehouse cobbled together with parts from a “shipwreck” told the story of Tarzan’s life – from his infancy as an English lord to his upbringing by a troupe of gorillas in the jungles of Africa – through drawings and sketches by the character Jane Porter, daughter of a British explorer and Tarzan’s eventual love-interest.

The original attraction was based on the movie “The Swiss Family Robinson” before being rethemed to the 1999 Disney animated movie, “Tarzan,” and while the treehouse itself will remain, the theme will be entirely new.

Demolition has already begun on the entry to the attraction.

The 80-foot treehouse adventure will reopen at a later date, and details regarding the new theme will be announced in due course.
