‘The Masked Singer’ installs Miss Monster on the Santa Monica Pier

To congratulate Fox Television’s “The Masked Singer”—the #1 show on television—for its Emmy nomination for Best Reality Competition Program, Fox has installed a giant 10-foot Miss Monster at the world-famous L.A. landmark, Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier.

“The Masked Singer” features celebrities facing off against one another with one major twist: each singer is disguised in an elaborate costume to conceal his or her identity. The hit singing competition series will compete against Netflix’s “Nailed It!” as well as the reigning champion “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and former winners “Top Chef” and “The Voice” in the Best Reality Competition Program category. This year’s Emmy Awards will air Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020, on ABC.

The larger-than-life character was installed over Inkie the Octopus, who normally sprawls over the main entrance to Pacific Park. Miss Monster (who was revealed to be R&B sensation Chaka Khan on season 3 of “The Masked Singer”) is sporting her signature blue polka dot bow over her one giant sparkling green eye. She is also wearing a 10-foot-wide face mask to promote compliance with current COVID-19 safety guidelines (no doubt with her perfect pink lipstick underneath).

Although the oceanfront amusement park is still closed, Miss Monster fans will be able to snap a selfie with her from a safe distance through Aug. 30, 2020.

Season 4 of the Masked Singer premieres Fall 2020 on Fox. Click here to watch full episodes of season 3.
