‘The Traitors’ takes over hidden bar at Universal Orlando CityWalk

A new “The Traitors: New Blood” bar experience is opening at Universal CityWalk Orlando, bringing themed cocktails, costumes and photo opportunities to Universal’s Great Movie Escape.

The limited-time experience officially opens Saturday, Sept. 12, with a possible soft opening Friday. Attractions Magazine spotted crews putting the finishing touches on the transformation Friday afternoon.

The experience takes over the large bar space inside Universal’s Great Movie Escape, including its often-overlooked second-floor lounge. Guests do not need to participate in one of the venue’s escape-room experiences to visit the bar.

“The Traitors: New Blood” is an upcoming NBC reality competition hosted by Alan Cumming. The series places 22 everyday Americans in a Scottish castle, where contestants designated as “Faithful” attempt to identify the secret “Traitors” among them while competing for a prize fund of up to $250,000. It is a new all-civilian version of Peacock’s Emmy-winning “The Traitors.”

The downstairs lobby area starts off the theming and displays for “The Traitors.” Meanwhile, the upstairs bar has been transformed with dark green and gold décor, “The Traitors” imagery, a cloaked figure and displays featuring costumes worn by Cumming.

One display features a tartan look worn by Cumming and styled by Emmy winner Sam Spector. Signage says the outfit was inspired by historical Scottish fashion and custom-made in modern distressed denim.

The bar will also offer themed drinks, some similar to what has been on the menu here prior to the takeover.

The menu includes cocktails such as The Maven, A Murder in Plain Sight and The Secret Passage, along with a nonalcoholic drink called The Shield. The Secret Passage features Woodford Reserve bourbon, agave syrup and bitters for $20, while The Shield combines apple juice, lemon juice, hibiscus syrup and club soda for $12.50.
