Thousands of pumpkins roll into Silver Dollar City during the annual Harvest Festival

Harvest Fest at Silver Dollar City brings more than 15,000 pumpkins to the park as part of the “Biggest Entertainment Year Ever,” featuring crafts, a pumpkin path, and Pumpkins In The City, from September 21-October 29, 2022.

The Branson, Mo. park has added a half-million-dollar “pumpkin” expansion for 2022, which includes larger than life sculptures and the Foggy Hollow lighted pathway, with its canopy of lighting and a soft, foggy glow. The winding pathway will surround guests in cascading lights and music.

Pumpkin sculptures in The City include the 14-foot-tall Lucky Dog, the Dalmatian mascot of Fireman’s Landing, along with friendly bats with five-foot wingspans, an enormous cat, a scarecrow that stands more than two storeys tall, and, of course, pumpkins. The City’s craftspeople are also represented in festive form.

Returning for Harvest Fest is The Garden of Giants, where guests can view half-ton pumpkins at Wilson’s Farm, along a newly-expanded pathway lined with themed decorations.

Youngsters can show off their dance moves during a blacklight, glow-in-the-dark dance party, and many of the lighting elements around the park are visible from select rides and attractions.

The Harvest Tasting Passport returns with an expanded menu of specialty foods with an emphasis on pumpkin goodness, including:

  • Pumpkin spiced ribs
  • Pumpkin pie ice cream and pumpkin cone
  • Pumpkin squash bisque
  • Pumpkin chili
  • Pumpkin cheese cake cone
  • Pork sandwich and pumpkin BBQ sauce
  • Pumpkin corn dogs
  • Pumpkin cinnamon rolls
  • Pumpkin bread pudding

Additionally, favorites from previous years will return, such as the harvest skillet, pork belly skillet, salted caramel apple funnel cake, and the smoked sausage mac and cheese cone.

Guests who purchase the Harvest Tasting Passport can sample items from more than 20 locations around the park.

World-renowned pumpkin carvers and craft artisans – including watercolor artist Buck Taylor from the television series’ “Gunsmoke” and “Yellowstone” – will be on hand during the day; the outdoor stages will be abuzz with live music; and chuckwagon chefs and storytellers will spin tales of cowboy adventures.

Cowboy Camp is the place to find the Chuckwagon Cook Off, where chefs battle against each other in preparing traditional cowboy grub. Guests can sample dishes, then choose the Chuckwagon King with their whoops and hollers.
