Universal Orlando offering a free Holiday Tree Hunt with prize

by Matt Roseboom

Universal Orlando has quietly added a fun new holiday activity. The Holiday Tree Hunt has you visiting both theme parks and CityWalk in search of some cool Christmas trees. Find them all and you’ll get a free ornament.

You can pick up a free Holiday Tree Hunt map at either of the main stores in both parks. But don’t be confused by the ornaments displayed next to the maps. Those aren’t the free prizes for completing the map.

At each location you spot one of the trees, find a team member and ask them to stamp your map. You have to get all the stamps in both parks and CityWalk before you can get your free ornament. Each stamp has a unique design related to the trees at those locations.

To get you started, there will be a tree in the store where you pick up your map. Here’s the one in the Universal Studios Store at Universal Studios Florida:

The map lists the name of the store as well as shows the location on the map. But some can be tricky. The Hello Kitty tree is found in the store listed as Silver Screen Collectibles, but that name isn’t on the outside of the store anywhere.

There’s also a store in Islands of Adventure that is only listed as “Store”. From looking at the map, it’s in Marvel Super Hero Island. If you have trouble finding any of them, just ask a team member for help.

They really put a lot of details in the trees. Be sure to look all around each one. This Men In Black one has an alien hidden in it that you’ll only notice if you walk around to the back of it:

The Shrek tree features a fairy flying around the top and various sounds coming out of it:

Once you have your stamps complete, head to the Christmas shop at either park to get your free ornament.

You can chose either of these Minions to hang on your tree at home. Unlike the scavenger hunts with prizes at Disney parks, the Universal one is completely free.

Here are three more trees we spotted:

Jurassic Park Christmas Tree.
Minion Christmas Tree.
Frankenstein and his bride look over The Revenge of The Mummy Christmas tree.
