Stilt walkers are a common occurrence around Orlando’s theme parks, and if you’ve ever wondered what goes on to bring these performers to life, now’s your chance to see for yourself.

In conjunction with its A Year in the Life: Backstage to Onstage at Universal Orlando Resort exhibition, the Orange County Regional History Center is hosting a series of demonstrations and Q&A sessions with experts from the Art & Design Department at Universal Orlando Resort from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday, May 11.

These demonstrations and sessions are designed to take visitors behind the scenes at the theme parks’ iconic annual events. The first event will focus on stilt walking and other events will include drumming demonstrations, special effects and lighting Q&A sessions, and a stunt demonstration. For a full schedule of events please visit thehistorycenter.org.

The History Center is located at 65 East Central Blvd., at the corner of Magnolia Ave., downtown Orlando. Parking is available in the Public Library parking garage on Central Blvd. Demonstrations will take place on the 3rd floor in their historic 1927 courtroom. Q&A sessions will take place on the 2nd floor in the exhibition.
