Universal Studios Japan is getting yet another limited event based on a blockbuster anime franchise. Starting in September, the park will bring “Jujutsu Kaisen”-themed attractions, experiences, merchandise, and food.
The main attraction of this limited event includes the “Jujutsu Kaisen: The Real 4-D” cinematic experience, which includes an exclusive original “episode” of the hit series.
The story follows characters Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki as they venture to Osaka to investigate and fight the evil curse infecting the new Jutjutsu High Osaka Branch at Universal Studios Japan. The new story also features fan-favorites Aoi Todo and Jujutsu Sorcerer Gojo.
The show features “4D” effects like vibration, water elements, and other moving parts to immerse guests in the world of “Jujutsu Kaisen.”
The other draw of the event is a “Jujutsu Kaisen” takeover of the Hollywood Dream – The Ride coaster, which is being retooled to Jujutsu Kaisen X Hollywood Dream – The Ride: Kaikai Kitan. Like Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket at Universal Orlando Resort, USJ’s coaster has a speaker system built into the seats that allows riders to pick a favorite song.
For the “Jujutsu Kaisen” event, the coaster will include the opening theme song, “Kaikai Kitan” by Eve.
“Jujutsu Kaisen: The Real 4-D” runs from Sept. 16, 2022, through July 2, 2023. The Hollywood Dream – The Ride song additions runs from Sept. 16, 2022, through Jan. 18, 2023.
Universal Studios Japan is also expected to announce exclusive “Jujutsu Kaisen” food and merchandise.
And, the Osaka theme park is bringing back a full slate of Halloween Horror Nights experiences for 2022.
