Video and photo tour of Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort

The Fall 2009 issue of Orlando Attractions Magazine features a story on Disney’s new Bay Lake Tower hotel at their Contemporary Resort. The new 15-story tower is part of Disney’s Vacation Club and combines modern design with an ideal location, just minutes away from the Magic Kingdom.

Below is a video tour of Bay Lake Tower, taking you through the lobby, Grand Vista Suite, a two-bedroom unit, the walkway between the new tower and the Contemporary Resort, the Top of the World lounge and fireworks viewing platform, and the pool and recreation areas:

  1. Love the videos, we are staying there March 2 – 6 and then going on a 7 day Disney Magic cruise…Anything interesting and new between the two buildings Bay Tower and Contemporary…? Can anyone go to the viewing area to see the fireworks or just Disney Fans staying at the Bay Lake Towers? And is it worth the extra points for the Magic Kingdom view?

  2. The fireworks viewing platform and Top of the World lounge are restricted to Bay Lake Tower guests. You need your room key card to access them. Same goes for the walkway between the two buildings and even the Bay Lake Tower lobby.

The Magic Kingdom view is pretty spectacular but if you’re like me, you don’t spend a lot of time gazing out the window of your hotel room. Though I imagine watching the fireworks from your own room would be a nice treat.

  3. One clarification: You not only have to be staying at Bay Lake Tower to access the fireworks lounge and platform, but you also have to be DVC members.
