VIDEO: Lego astronaut model unveiled at Legoland Florida Resort

To celebrate today’s launch of NASA’s 2020 Mars Perseverance rover, Legoland Florida Resort has unveiled an out-of-this-world display: a life-size Lego astronaut model!

The Lego astronaut model is made of almost 66,000 Lego bricks, and is accompanied by a moon landing-inspired mosaic background built from more than 44,000 bricks.

Originally built last year to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission, these models have been on display at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex since their construction. But starting today, guests can enjoy these unique displays in their new, permanent home — the Imagination Zone at Legoland Florida Resort.
