Drinking at Walt Disney World – The Vacation Kingdom’s Best Bars

Walt Disney World and alcohol aren’t usually the two things you first combine together. Unless, of course, you think of the International Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. While Walt Disney World is a family-friendly destination, they don’t hold back on theming bars and drinks in their parks and hotels.

Walt Disney World has an ever-growing assortment of places to get alcohol. While getting a beer at dinner may seem normal, just a few years ago it was a big deal to purchase a drink at the Magic Kingdom. While Disneyland park in California still limits alcohol consumption to very few spots, Walt Disney World allows the purchase of adult beverages at almost any eatery.

We have compiled a list of some of the best bars on Walt Disney World property. Many are owned and operated by Disney, but others are taken care of by third party vendors.

bars

Oga’s Cantina

Located in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, this otherworldly themed bar will throw you into the Star Wars universe. Drinks here will spew smoke, be adorned with cookies, and make your face tingle (no joke, the Fuzzy Tauntaun is my favorite Disney drink and actually offers a numbing sensation when you drink it).

To access this bar, guests will have to have theme park admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. While the bar is currently not offering advance reservations, it is highly recommended to get a return time early in the day to secure a spot.

Esquire recently named Oga’s Cantina at Walt Disney World one of the 27 “Best Bars in America” for 2020. You can learn more about this establishment and check out their menu here.

  1. My favorite places to have a drink are the ones that don’t close at 8 o’clock or at the first rain drop (hotels/resorts) you are almost forced to go to the springs after the early park closures
