Walt Disney World guests who enjoy “drinking around the world” now have yet another reason to visit La Cava Del Tequila, because the popular watering hole inside Epcot’s Mexico pavilion has just introduced a new Frozen Black Magic Margarita created by actor Neil Patrick Harris.
Since opening a decade ago, La Cava Del Tequila has earned a reputation as one of Epcot’s best bars for top-shelf liquor and top-notch service. Starting on December 28, 2019, La Cava has added yet another temptation to its menu, in the form of a Frozen Black Magic Margarita that was created and personally taste-tested by Neil Patrick Harris.
The Frozen Black Magic Margarita is made with blackberry puree, creme de cassis, and mint, and served garnished with a pink fire stick flower. The drink costs $21 because it is made with a large amount of expensive mezcal, and is a permanent addition to La Cava’s menu.
While the drink is not named after Harris, he was instrumental in its formulation, and apparently enjoyed the research and development process according to his recent tweet:
As a surprise bonus, randomly selected guests who order the drink during the first three days (Dec. 28-30) may receive a copy of Harris’ best-selling The Magic Misfits books, or a deck of his playing cards, while supplies last.
This is far from the first involvement with the Disney parks for Harris, who is best known for his television roles on Doogie Howser, M.D. and How I Met Your Mother. A lifelong Disney fan, Harris has served as narrator of Epcot’s Candlelight Processional, as well as host of the Diamond Anniversary World of Color: Celebrate! show and the former California Screamin’ ride at Disney California Adventure. Most recently, he hosted the Freeform special on the opening of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge.
